Over 35 Years of Funding Innovative Educational Projects!
The Worthington Educational Foundation was formed on May 4, 1988 by a group of community leaders dedicated to making the educational experience of our children something extraordinary. Their goal was to make funds available for educational projects that went beyond the basic curriculum and would not otherwise be funded with tax dollars or the school district.
The Mission of the Worthington Educational Foundation, a community-wide tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, is to partner with the Worthington School District to help district staff experiment with emerging trends, conduct action research, and provide experiential learning for students, parents and/or the community. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees comprising of committed members of our school and business community. The trustees devote their time, money and creativity to make sure the Foundation supports only those grants that advance its core mission and raise money from our community to support future grant making.
Over its 35 plus year history, the Foundation has raised over $600,000 in contributions and awarded over 450 grants to Worthington district teachers and staff. These grants fund exciting and innovative educational projects for our students across all schools, grade levels and subject areas.
We hope you will assist the Foundation in its ongoing mission to support Worthington Schools and help our community continue to be an exceptional place to live, learn and work.
