Meet the Trustees
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees comprising of committed members of our school and business community, plus ex-officio members such as the district superintendent, the WEA President and one member of the Board of Education. The trustees devote their time, money and creativity to make sure the Foundation supports only those grants that advance its core mission and raise money from our community to support future grant making. Executive Director of The WEF since July 2018. Coming to The WEF with experience in fundraising, organization, marketing and knowledge of the Worthington community. "I am excited to help get our foundation to a point where the grants we fund change lives in not only the students but also the teachers and school administrators as well. We have a great community that has incredible potential to go above and beyond our central Ohio neighbors!" Jenny, her husband Dave and their three kids moved here in 2004. Her oldest graduated TWHS May 2018, her daughter is a Junior at TWHS and her youngest son is an 8th grader at Kilbourne Middle School.
Current Vice-Chair - Joined The WEF in 2010. Currently an attorney at Bricker & Eckler practicing Energy Litigation/Eminent Domain, and representing public school districts throughout Ohio. "Worthington is my community. My village. We have great schools with superb academics and a diverse population of students. My hope is that we continue to provide our children with all the options that Worthington Schools offers--from the Phoenix MS and Linworth programs--to challenging AP courses and services for our exceptional/special needs kids. "
has been involved with The WEF since 2006, serving 3 terms and becoming an ex-officio, only to rejoing July 2018 as a current Trustee. "My husband and I, graduates of Worthington Schools, chose Worthington as the place where we wanted to raise our family. Our three children all graduated from Worthington Schools, too. I love this community! From its' quaint charm, to its' vibrant downtown, to its' fantastic schools, I am proud every day to say I live in Worthington."
Current Chair - Joined The WEF in 2014. During my career, I have been a consultant at the state level for early intervention (children birth to age three with or at risk for disabilities) and newborn hearing screening. I also worked as a grants and bid writer for a medical supplies vendor. Currently, I am the Executive Director of a rapidly growing outpatient rehabilitation facility for speech, occupational and hearing services. "I hope that all kids in our district receive the education they need to be a productive member of society. I also hope that the WEF can support teachers to be the best teachers they can be."
Currently serving as the Director of Operations for Franklin Park Conservatory, previously held positions at United Way of Central Ohio and COSI. Also serves on Franklin County Children's Services Volunteer Advisory Council. I've been married to my husband Jeff for 11 years and we have two children, Elise and John. Both of my children attend Bluffsview Elementary. Most of my free time is devoted to volunteer activities, but I also enjoy cooking and reading. "My hope for all children in out community to gain the experiences and skills they need to become great citizens and lead fulfilling lives."
Dr. Shannan has been in family practice for over 28 years. He specializes in developing individual and corporate wellness plans and he teaches corporate wellness classes and serves the community as a wellness consultant and speaker. He practices at Worthington Optimal Wellness.
Dr. Shannan grew up on a farm in Iowa. He did his undergraduate work at Iowa State University and attended chiropractic school at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa. He has 3 sons, all who attended Worthington City Schools. He also resides in Worthington.
Kathy has been a Trustee since 2016. For the past 25 years she has been a middle/high school counselor in Worthington Schools. As a Worthington Alumni herself, Kathy "would like to see the great education I received continue for the current Worthington students." In her spare time, and when not coaching the TWHS Girls and Boys tennis teams, she enjoys tennis, biking, reading, attending the Farmer's Market, and many festival.
Paula Stanley is a graduate of Denison University and currently works in Operations for a national insurance company. She has volunteered for multiple causes throughout Central Ohio, including: The United Way, The College Fund and The American Red Cross, of which she is a former Licking County Red Cross Board of Directors and Human Resources Committee member. She currently spends time training for distance races and volunteers and attends philanthropic functions for “A Kid Again,” a local non-profit “kids charity.”
Paula is a proud mother of two sons, Dimitrious and Michael Stanley; both are successful products of the Worthington school system.
